POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Director, Multijurisdictional Counterdrug Task Force Training (MCTFT)

DEPARTMENT: Criminal Justice Institute SITE: AC

SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P - GRADE: E

BASIC FUNCTION:

Plans, organizes, manages and directs all activities of the Multijurisdictional Counterdrug Task Force Training insuring compliance within contractual parameters.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

v      Responsible for the direction and administration of all activities of MCTFT insuring compliance within contractual parameters.

v      Initiates procedures to insure the identification of areas of drug training needs, structuring procedures to develop curriculum and devising a process to provide either centralized or mobile training programs to fill those needs.

v      Recommends the hiring of employees and trains, directs and evaluates work of staff assigned. Handles grievances within the unit.

v      Envisions and plans for future training needs. Develops immediate programs to fill existing needs.

v      Manages and tailors current training programs and implements program evaluation systems.

v      Promotes training programs within the community and region.

v      Supervises the development and maintenance of the program budget.

v      Prepares reports and statistical studies relating to the operations and services of the department.

v      Performs related duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree in the criminal justice field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Four (4) years experience in supervising and participating in law enforcement including experience in narcotics investigation and training.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of the practices and procedures involved in law enforcement. Knowledge of the procedures and laws involved in narcotics investigation. Knowledge of the techniques involved in training law enforcement personnel. Knowledge of the problems and corrective actions necessary to control illegal drugs. Ability to design and implement specialized law enforcement training programs. Ability to coordinate research and incorporate the results in a training program. Ability to maintain good working relationships with outside agencies, staff and the community. Computer and calculator skills. Supervisory skills. Training skills. Verbal and written communications skills.
