Step 1: Define your
personality style. The objective of this first step is to guide you in defining your personality style. In this program, your personality style is defined as "the picture of yourself that emerges after you've collected information about your interests, skills, values and/or behavioral traits."
Knowing yourself is critically important if you wish to discover occupations that will be both enjoyable and rewarding.
While we recommend that you assess all four areas of your personality style (interests, skills, values and behavioral traits), you may elect to assess and define anywhere from 1 to 4 areas.
However, regardless of how many assessment areas you elect to complete, you must always complete at least the interest assessment option. After completing any assessment area, use the Personality Style Profile (Form 1) to record your findings. Here's a sample of what your Personality Style Profile might look like if you were to assess all 4 areas of your personality style.
Now, complete as many of the 4 assessment areas as you prefer by clicking on their links to the right. When finished, move on to Step 2. |

This step will help you weed out occupations that are unsuitable while arming you with the necessary information about each remaining career option for making an informed decision about a specific career goal (which you will do in Step 4).

Step 4: Select a career goal.
The objective of this fourth step is to guide you in comparing your personality style (interests, skills, values and/or behavioral traits) to each occupation that remains on your List of Possible Career Options (Form 2) to determine which occupation BEST matches your personality style.
The top scoring occupations are the ones we recommend you seriously consider as your career goal.

Step 5: Develop a career plan.
The objective of this last step is to help you determine which steps (i.e. decisions and tasks) you should take - and in which order - to actually reach your new career goal. This step will help you develop a "map" showing you how to reach your new career goal.
