online services:

Occupational Outlook Handbook (see descriptions below).

O*NET Online
O*NET Online, developed by the U.S.
Department of Labor, is the largest collection of occupational information
available today! The O*NET database contains information on more than
800 occupations. Occupations are organized
according to a number of factors, including interests. To find occupations related to your interests, use either of the following
options:
The
Quick Search by Keyword
function. Type in a word or words that describe your interests
(example: writing) and click the GO button to view of list of related
job titles.
Open the
Browse by Job Family
menu and select a career field that best matches your interests to view
occupations related to that field (interest).
Occupational
Outlook Handbook
The Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) is another career database
developed by the U.S. Department of Labor. It contains detailed
profiles on hundreds of occupations. Occupations are arranged according to 11 broad interest areas
as listed below. Click on the areas that most closely match your
interests to view a list of matching occupational titles (and descriptions):
