Florida Ready to Work
Credential Program

Introduction…

The Florida Ready to Work program, sponsored by the state of Florida and free to job seekers, offers job seekers an opportunity to demonstrate to employers that they have mastered critical skills necessary in 85% of all jobs today.  By completing several assessments that measure job skills and work habits, job seekers are awarded a certificate signed by Governor Charlie Crist.

This certificate is accepted by many employers as evidence of the job seeker's ability to succeed on the job - saving employers time and money finding qualified hires, while giving job seekers a competitive edge.

The Assessments…

Assessment are provided to measure your skill in applied math, reading for information and locating information.  In addition, job seekers may also request assessments to measure their job skills and work habits.  Each assessment takes approximately 1 hour to complete. You may retake any assessment to earn a higher score.

Who's eligible?

Any student or resident in the state of Florida.

How does it work?

To receive your certificate, please do the following:

  • Sign up at a participating assessment center.

  • Complete an online pre-assessment program to determine if you're ready to take these tests.

  • (Optional) Complete a self-paced tutorial to build your skills.

  • Complete the proctored assessments.

  • Receive your certificate signed by Governor Crist.

Certificate levels…

Scores run from 3-7 on each assessment.  A score of 3 on all assessment results in a bronze certificate, a score of 4 on each produces a silver certificate, and a score of 5 on each assessment awards you a gold certificate.
