To identify occupations related to your values, we suggest you use two
online resources: Choices Planner and O*NET Online (see descriptions below).
Caution!
Selecting a career goal should not be made simply by identifying
occupations related to your values. Other factors, such as your
interests, skills, and behavioral traits should also be considered. To

directions below.
Choices Planner - This is a free career
exploration program offered at Facts.org, which is sponsored by the Florida
Department of Education. You can use Choices Planner to identify
occupations related to work values. To take this free values
assessment program, follow the directions below.

Read all of these directions first, and then click
the Start now... link below to access the Choices Planner website.
In the Adults and Post-Secondary section, click
Jump in.
Click on the Choices Planner picture.
Click on the Work Values Sorter in the Work
column.
Click on Start Ranking Your Values.
Print a copy
of your Interpretation Report and matching occupations.
O*NET Online, developed by the U.S.
Department of Labor, is the largest collection of occupational information
available today! The O*NET database contains information on more than
800 occupations. Occupations are organized
according to a number of matching factors, including values. To find occupations related to your
values, follow the directions below.

Read all of these directions first, and then click
the Start now... link below to access the O*NET Online website.
Note the
paragraph, Browse by O*NET Descriptor.
Click on the Work Values folder.
Click on any
of the six values (Achievement, Independence,
etc.) to view a list of occupations related to that value.
Note:
occupations are ranked by Job Zone. Occupations with a Job Zone of
1 require the least preparation. Occupations with a Job Zone of 5
require the most preparation. Select the zone you prefer to
reorganize the list of job titles.
