POSITION TITLE: Director, Medical Devices Cluster Initiative

BASIC FUNCTION:

Plan all aspects of St. Petersburg College’s participation as a sub-grantee to Concurrent Technologies Corporation/Public Benefits Corporation (CTC/PBC) for the U.S. Department of Education grant award, Building Industry Cluster Centers – Community College/Vocational Industry Cluster Hubs insuring compliance within grant parameters. Direct all aspects of program operation including marketing, budget management, curriculum development, and serving as liaison to the Medical Devices business and industry in the county.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directs all aspects of the program operation including marketing, budget management and curriculum development. Serves as liaison to the Medical Devices business and industry in the county.
• Insures Compliance within grant parameters.
• Work with business/industry, faculty and staff to identify and develop new and emerging training programs and services for the Medical Devices Industry Cluster.
• Identify and assist in the development of grant proposals to expand existing programs and services for the Medical Devices Industry Cluster.
• Assist in the development and activities of Pinellas County Economic Development Medical Devices Association.
• Coordinate and evaluate current grant funded program to identify effectiveness, technical assistance needs and expansion opportunities.
• Manage budget according to grant and college policies.
• Complete reports for district, state, and federal records.
• Performs related work as required.

Master’s degree required. Engineering degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Five (5) years of management experience in Medical Devices industry. Extensive knowledge regarding the Medical Devices industry sector required. Industrial training experience needed. Project management experience required.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Communications skills, both written and verbal, appropriate for corporate/manufacturing environment. Knowledge of needs assessment and program evaluation methodologies, and strategies for networking to build business/community partnerships.
