POSITION TITLE: Coordinator, Instructional Development, Title III Program

BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for identifying and coordinating instructional
development activities that will enhance the success and retention of college prep students and
encourage more under-prepared students to attend college. Works under the coordination of the
Activity Director and with the college prep faculty and program directors to develop innovative
instructional strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitates the implementation of the Activity's Instructional development
program through the development and delivery of a comprehensive professional development program
on learning theory, learning styles, and active learning strategies.
- Assists basic skills faculty and instructional staff with the design of
active learning strategies for incorporation into the Preparatory Program.
- Facilitates the development of essential instructional infrastructure to
support the teaching-learning process.
- Assists basic skills faculty with the implement of the preparatory program
pilot at each level of instruction.
- Facilitates the development of active learning strategies for delivery
through E-Campus.
- Assists with the assessment and improvement of curricular impact on student
persistence, achievement, and retention.
- Assists with the development of an electronic portfolio of instructional
strategies and materials to support the usage of acting learning strategies.
- Prepares a continuing professional development program addressing issues
related to learning theory, instructional design, and impact in conjunction with the professional
development program.
- Assists with the preparation of materials and the development of the
Preparatory Program presentation to the Education and Student Services Council.
- Teaches one or more classes each semester in a related discipline.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Master's
Degree in education with a specialty in instructional design, preferably on the development of
active learning strategies in higher education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
At
least three(3) years experience working with college prep students.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Must
demonstrate effective communication and human relations skills, as well as highly refined
organization and technical skills.
