BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Directs a center that will originate, replicate and disseminate national programs and projects that have proven successful in the practice of teaching and leadership development for school administrators.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establishes and oversees the development of programs in the center.
• Develops units in the center to achieve multifaceted mission of the center.
• Seeks input from appropriate constituencies regarding services provided by the center.
• Develops consensus regarding center programs and operation.
• Communicates with a wide range of individuals and groups on a local, state and national level to identify and secure resources to support the mission of the center.
• Oversees the development and implementation of training programs that have significant outreach and a positive impact on student achievement.
• Supervises assistant directors.
• Monitors all programs and services sponsored by the center and insures that a successful market plan is instituted for the center.
• Develops and manages budget for the center.
• Seeks continued funding for the center.
• Insures that information and research developed by the center is disseminated.
• Prepares reports and proposals to support center operation.
• Performs related duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

ED.D or PHD preferred. 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Substantive successful experience in leadership positions in fields related to the project.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Experience in providing leadership in innovative projects or organizations. Knowledge of the teaching and learning processes, school improvement processes, curriculum development, instructional technology, and teacher and/or administrator training and development programs. Ability to assess the need for programs and lead in development of programs using a participatory management style. Ability to work with multiple constituencies and organizations. Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, educational policy makers, and decision makers.
