POSITION TITLE: Director, Title III Program

BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for identifying and coordinating services and activities
that will enhance the success and retention of college prep students and encourage more
under-prepared students to attend college. Works with college prep faculty and program directors to
develop teaching pedagogy that enhances learning in college prep areas. Works with student services
personnel to develop special programs that enhance the retention of college prep students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees and evaluates new programs designed to enhance success and
retention in college prep areas to identify effectiveness, technical assistance needs and
expansion opportunities. Establish procedures for program operation.
- Researches the literature to find new ideas for projects that improve
success in college prep courses.
- Works with program directors and student services personnel to identify and
develop new methods and techniques to improve student recruitment and retention in college prep.
- Recommends the allocation of grant funds for special projects; trains,
directs and evaluates work of staff working on this project.
- Prepares and administers departmental budgets.
- Assists in the development of additional grant proposals to expand existing
services and programs as well as to provide new programs.
- Identifies and provides staff development activities to enhance student
services and program improvement in the college prep areas.
- Assists with grant reporting for the Title III grant.
- Manages budgets according to college policy and/or grant project
stipulations.
- Participates as a member of various college committees.
- Collaborates with various college departments to establish and coordinate
efforts of improving student recruitment & retention.
- Coordinates with the staff working on the SACS QEP and assists with writing
the SACS documents as it relates to activities in the Title III grant.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Master's
Degree. Prefer degree in English, Math, or Reading.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
At
least Four(4) years experience working with college prep students.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge
of education administration. Ability to work with students, faculty and administrators in program
development. Verbal and written communications skills. Management and supervisory skills. Human
relations skills.
