POSITION TITLE:  Assistant/Associate Professor, Elementary Education with ESOL

 

 

DEPARTMENT: College of Education      SITE: Various
 

SALARY SCHEDULE: Instructional 12 Month   GRADE:  N/A


BASIC FUNCTION:
 

A faculty member at SPC has the primary function of instruction, coaching, and student development. Secondary functions include assisting the College in developing and maintaining a quality program of instruction, providing service to the College and continuing professional development.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


Doctorate (strongly preferred) or PhD candidate that has an approved proposal and is expecting to complete his/her PhD within one year or Masters Degree; in elementary education (eg., curriculum instruction, reading, ESOL, elementary math/science, elementary language arts).

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
 

Experience in college/university teaching, a current valid state-issued teaching license and a minimum of three years of continuous full time teaching K-6 students. Familiarity and experience with collaborative, inclusionary programs is expected.
 

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:


A distinguished record of excellence in professional or teaching career.   Proven ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff and other stakeholders throughout the educational continuum.  Strong written and oral communications skills; computer skills; assessment expertise.
