POSITION TITLE: Video Support Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Advanced Video Services SITE: SEM

SALARY SCHEDULE: Technical - GRADE: 1

BASIC FUNCTION:

Provides technical support for Advanced Video Services such as operating video production cameras, editors, switchers, sound boards, and computer related hardware/software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops video tape features for SPC-TV.
• Maintains and distributes student use television equipment for Advanced Video Services.
• Operates studio control equipment for SPC-TV and Digital Auditorium events.
• Maintains video production classroom.
• Operates mobile production system equipment.
• Supports Instructors (college faculty) in developing instructional video courses and learning objects.
• Assists computer specialist in developing professional projects for college wide use.
• Trouble shoots faculty video equipment and report severe problems to college television engineers.
• Supports the development of video segments on College campuses and sites.
• Performs related duties as required.

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Associate's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Three (3) years experience with television production equipment; field cameras, non-linear editors and studio control components.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of non-linear editing systems such as Final Cut Pro III or Avid. Knowledge of Field Camera equipment or Electronic News Gathering equipment. Ability to produce assignments independently, including a physical ability to carry and set up specific professional video camera equipment in the field, without assistance. Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.
