Human Resources Program Coordinator
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under general direction performs independent, responsible and complex human resource management services work.Apply and interpret rules to appropriate situations within designated areas of responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
General
Coordinate and supervise input of all payroll, benefit and other related information into the PeopleSoft system.
Coordinate and supervise the departmental budgeted employee records management program.
Retirement and Terminal pay Programs
Serves as Florida Retirement System coordinator to provide information to employees about retirement and DROP.
Prepare retirement enrollment materials for processing.
Serve as Liaison with Florida Retirement System representatives
Prepare terminal leave payments and administers the Bencor 401-A program
Compensation and Contracts
Maintain HR master calendar and coordinate completion of special projects.
Coordinates the implementation of college wide compensation adjustments (ATB etc.)
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the master position budget file.
Coordinates the annual faculty rotation base contract system and adjust contracts accordingly.
Coordinate the preparation of annual contracts for faculty and administrative/professional staff and maintain records.
Review, verify and approve degree changes (recalc salary) and forward for input and update of records accordingly.
Payroll processing and records management
Administer the personnel data base report, annual personnel report and other related state and federal reports.
Serve as liaison with payroll for resolution of budgeted employee payroll related problems and proper processing of payroll information
Supervise the processing (including staff) of employee information into the PeopleSoft information system relative to payroll, benefits, performance evaluation, contract status
Reviews personnel action recommendation forms for accuracy prior to processing.
Coordinate and analyze paperwork associated with new hires, transfers, reclassifications, extension of appointments, terminations and leaves of absence for processing.
Issues administrative, professional and instructional contracts.
Administers and inputs data into computer for wage and salary increases.
Coordinate the budgeted payroll quality control process to verifies payroll input data via payroll edit reports and queries in to the PeopleSoft system.
Maintain salary schedules, rules, handbooks, web sites and HR/payroll PeopleSoft system tables.
Responsible for compensation actions of budgeted employees unrelated to initial hire and/or promotions. (contract changes etc.).
Maintain faculty rotation base contract system and update records accordingly.
Coordinates the review and input of BUDGETED employee payroll materials, contracts and other related pre-employment certification forms.
Performs related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS degree or Associates degree from an accredited institution with two (2) years related experience in addition to experience required below.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) years of related experience (six (6) years with Associates degree).
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of basic categories of professional Human Resources Management practices including advanced and specialized knowledge of at least one major category of human resource management. Ability to make sound judgments based on facts found in human resource management related investigations Possession of a valid Florida Drivers License. Skill in the use of a computer. Verbal and written communications skills. Ability to deal with people, agencies and organizations. Ability to handle sensitive situations.
