Supplemental (Instructional) Appointment Procedure

A&P and Career Service employees seeking supplemental instructional employment must complete an On Line Adjunct Application.

  1. Complete the credentialing form (if applicable) and submit to the Provost or Dean for approval. Approved credentialing materials must be forwarded to the Human Resources office immediately following approval by Provost or Dean. A copy should be retained in the Provost office for data entry into PeopleSoft credentialing system.

  2. Complete the Adjunct/Supplemental Personnel Action Authorization Request form (Adjunct-PAAR) which can be accessed on the HR forms web site at http://www.spcollege.edu/staffcentral/. Save the PAAR form on your computer files before submitting to HR.

  3. Submit the Adjunct/supplemental PAAR form to Human Resources by clicking on the email address indicator located on the front of the PAAR form (your email will automatically open with the Adjunct PAAR mailbox address indicated). Attach the saved PAAR to the email and click on "send."

  4. The PAAR will be automatically sent to the Adjunct HR Processing staff members as well as the grants/budget departments.

  5. Appropriate Cabinet supervisors must be copied on the emailed PAAR form. The PAAR will be considered "approved" for processing unless an email to the contrary is received from the designated cabinet member copied on the PAAR.

  6. HR will review completed Adjunct/Supplemental appointment PAAR (reviewed for accuracy to include Job Codes, GL Codes, Pay Group, Degree Status and pay rate verification for non-credit Adjunct, and Percent of Load) and obtain HR authorization/signatures. Final cabinet signatures will be obtained each Monday at Cabinet.

  7. PAAR will be processed into the PeopleSoft HR system following the completion of the orientation session.
