An Afternoon with Sister Eliseea Papacioc:

Sister Eliseea Papaciòc travels from her native Romania to discuss her work as an iconographer, including the intricate preparation of wood panels that she designs, embellishes and paints with traditional icon images as an expression of her faith.

Sister Elissea Papaciòc is a Romanian Orthodox nun who creates traditional icons infused with modern revelations. As an iconographer, she is well known in the Tampa Bay area and many of her icons are prominently displayed in churches in Tampa and Bradenton. The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art is honored to exhibit seven of Sister Eliseea’s icons.

Arnold Newman; His Work and His Legacy:

J. Tomás López, noted photographer, Professor of Art and Art History at University of Miami, and a former associate of Arnold Newman discusses the pictorial history of Arnold Newman as the father of “environmental portraiture” whose half-century career documents the great leaders, artists and thinkers of his time.
