BASIC FUNCTION:
The
Assessment Coordinator for the College of Education (COE) is responsible for
creating and managing information and assessment systems for the purpose of
reporting to internal and external entities to comply with requests and improve
unit and program operations. This position reports directly to the Dean with
close supervision by the Director of Curriculum & Student Success, College of
Education, and will be located primarily at the Tarpon Springs Campus. However,
travel among SPC campuses is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops an integrated system to collect, manage, analyze and report all
data —administrative, faculty and student — pertinent to the College of
Education—for enhanced effectiveness and continuous improvement.

Works with Dean and Director of Curriculum & Student Success to prepare all
reports required by various agencies regarding the College of Education in a
timely manner; viz. IPEP, Title II, NCATE, SACS, SPOL, FLDOE Initial Program
Approval.

Works closely with Coordinator of Baccalaureate Research and Reports to
prepare for SACS special projects and requests for information, including
data on new programs.

Coordinates all site visits from various agencies to assure and maintain the
ongoing success of the College of Education.

Coordinates the collection and dissemination of COE information and data
with other administrative offices (viz. Baccalaureate Specialist, Registrar,
Coordinator of Baccalaureate Research and Reports) within St. Petersburg
College to assure that data regarding admission, enrollment, progression and
program completion are tracked and properly reported.

Creates or manages existing survey instruments, including their timely
administration, and creates new instruments to improve all aspects of the
program.

Works closely with all COE administrative personnel and faculty to assure
that all appropriate and required data are collected and used as the basis
of decision-making within the unit.

Oversees the administration of all COE assessments for entering students.

Chairs or co-chairs the COE Technology Committee.

Works closely with TSS to liaise between the Dean’s Office and program
faculty in maintaining candidate electronic portfolios and training.

Works closely with the Dean and Director of Curriculum & Student Success in
the preparation of all planning documents and other documents to report
program effectiveness, including but not limited to unit plans, curriculum,
budgets, and fee reports.

Assures compliance of COE with all federal, state and institutional
guidelines and standards.

Performs related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A
Master’s degree in statistics, measurement or a related field in Education is
preferred. Qualified candidates with appropriate experience and a degree other
than a Masters may be considered.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum
of 3 years work experience in higher education preferred, especially in a
teacher preparation program or direct experience with data management,
accountability, and continuous improvement processes.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Written
and oral communication skills. Organizational and interpersonal skills. Computer
skills. Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, educational policy
makers, and decision makers.
Demonstrated ability to work
with faculty, staff, administrators, and the community.
