POSITION TITLE: Collegiate High School Principal
DEPARTMENT: Charter High School SITE: SPG
SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P GRADE: E
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Leads a
Charter High School stressing dual enrollment programs at St. Petersburg
College. Directs, coordinates and administers the educational activities of a
charter high school. Work contacts include faculty, staff, students and the
public. This position reports to the campus provost; receives broad direction
related to charter high school goals and objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree required (doctorate preferred). Standard Secondary Certificate. Principal Certificate (or eligible for certification).
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Five (5) years experience in administrative, leadership positions in K-12 education management, preferably in a high school environment and including budgeting process and FTE collection, charter school funding, and secondary/postsecondary fiscal procedures and processes. Classroom experience. Strong interest in innovative high school programs. Experience in recruiting/public relations.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of: dual enrollment, early college programs and charter school operations/legislation; current practices in the administration of secondary school programs; federal and state laws, state regulations; curriculum development; current subject matter in areas taught; supervisory principles/procedures; staff development; and school improvement process/SACS accreditation (including analysis of student data as it relates directly to instruction and student performance).
Ability to: establish organizational goals bases upon assessment of needs; develop and implement program objectives relating to curriculum and instructional goals; design instructional programs to meet the diagnosed needs of students; identify classroom management techniques; assess school and student achievement; coordinate use of materials, facilities and time in relation to expected goals; evaluate assigned staff; facilitate problem solving and decision making processes; develop and monitor budget; communicate effectively orally and in writing and establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.
