POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Coordinator, Continuing Education Bachelor Initiatives

DEPARTMENT: Baccalaureate SITE: EPI

SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P - GRADE: B

BASIC FUNCTION:

Administers, plans, organizes, and directs programs/courses/personnel within the upper division in regards to continuing education opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Works with Deans on establishing new options for upper division continuing education opportunities.

·         Plans, develops, implements and coordinates noncredit and credit programs, including seminars, conferences, and industry-type educational activities.

·         Recommends hiring of instructors. Trains, directs and evaluates all personnel under immediate supervision.

·         Develops and administers budgets for programs.

·         Assists students in program planning, course selection, and career occupational guidance.

·         Communicates with other deans and appropriate staff and faculty regarding policies, procedures and personnel matters.

·         Handles grievances within department as required.

·         Works with all phases of College (bookstore, business office, etc.) in connection with course scheduling and registration.

·         Interacts with community and College personnel in identifying problems, assessing educational needs and developing activities.

·         Works with state department of education and other colleges/universities and agencies in developing programs.

·         Assists Associate Vice President in projects, reports, etc., relating to specific education projects.

·         Responsible for establishing informal procedures as needed.

·         Performs related duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree in Education, Educational Administration or related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Three (3) years in educational experience, preferably in a field related to curriculum and industry relationships.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge computer applications.  Must be a good communicator, both verbal and written. Must be organized and able to develop plans. Knowledge of post-secondary education administration and college development. Ability to work with students, faculty, and administrators. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with potential partners. Ability to perform research related to new course development and develop presentations for senior managers and offices external to the college..
