POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION TITLE: Coordinator, Baccalaureate Admissions and Registration

 

DEPARTMENT: Central Records SITE: EPI DO

 

SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P - GRADE: A

 

BASIC FUNCTION:

Administers the baccalaureate application, admissions, graduation, and student record maintenance process.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Directs the baccalaureate admissions process, including verification of Florida Residency status and provides related training to other college staff.

·         Maintains legal procedures for safety, security and confidentiality of student files and registration records.

·         Informs students regarding general education requirements, graduation requirements, and college residency requirements.

·         Reviews baccalaureate graduation applications and posts graduation for all whom satisfy the requirements.

·         Devises innovative techniques to provide an efficient admissions process.

·         Processes dual enrollment (transient status) for students needing to attend another institution without interrupting SPC residency.

·         Prepares and certifies attendance records and student load status for governmental agencies, lending institutions, and employers.

·         Sets goals and implements activities to accomplish goals for baccalaureate admissions and records.

  • Evaluates transcripts and interprets test results.
  • Works closely with baccalaureate programs in establishing and updating admission and graduation rules, policies and procedures.

·         Recommends hiring, trains, directs, and evaluates all personnel in baccalaureate admissions and records.

·         Handles grievances under immediate supervision.

·         Processes SPC transcripts (hard copy).

·         Attends related meetings on behalf of the baccalaureate programs and performs related duties as required.

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Three (3) years in student records, registration, or related data analysis field.

 

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of SPC BOT Rules and Florida Statutes that apply to graduation and residency. Knowledge of computer usage. Knowledge of the total process involved in admissions and records. Written and verbal communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with students and the public. Human relations skills. Customer relation skills. Ability to supervise a large clerical staff.
