POSITION DESCRIPTION

Development SITE: DO
SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P GRADE: C
BASIC FUNCTION:
Performs development duties
and manages effective fund-raising programs, particularly through working with
corporate, foundation, government, alumni and community sources.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
v
Develops
and maintains contacts with professionals in the community to cultivate
recognition of SPC in the areas of trusts and wills.
v
Contacts
those persons responsible for performing estate planning to keep them aware of
college needs.
v
Works
closely with the Director of Development in following up programs and
development opportunities.
v
Performs
research to determine appropriate persons, corporations or institutions to
contact as possible contributors to the Foundation.
v
Cultivates
gifts to the college utilizing accepted development approaches and techniques.
v
Organizes
and presents meetings, conferences and events to promote the college.
v
Assists
in producing videos, releases and communications relating to the development
function.
v
Performs
related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in
public information, communications, marketing or related field
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
Five (5) years experience
in the communications or public relations field.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of the techniques
utilized in sales and the development of funds for a foundation. Knowledge of
trusts and wills and the sources of gifts in the community. Ability to
cultivate working relations with professionals in the community; ability to
make presentations to individuals and groups. Ability to communicate using speech,
vision and hearing skills.
