TITLE: Coordinator, Development

BASIC FUNCTION:
Coordinate, direct and implement management of effective fund-raising activities
for the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, particularly through working with private,
corporate, foundation, government, grant and community sources.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cultivates donor relationships with individuals,
business entities, foundations and other potential funding sources who have
an interest in the Museum.

Serves as liaison to SPC Foundation, Inc. and SPC
Institutional Advancement.

Secures donations in support of the Museum and procures
underwriting for exhibitions and programming.

Initiates and implements fundraising campaigns.

Develops appropriate fundraising projects involving a
variety of sources.

Coordinates grants and grant writing for the Museum.
-
Initiates and implements programs for increasing Museum
membership.

Coordinates activities of the auxiliary fundraising
organization.

Interfaces with the Museum Board of Directors for all
fundraising and developmental issues.

Develops and maintains contacts with professionals in
the community to cultivate recognition of the Museum in the community.

Develops policies and procedures for Museum Development
in compliance with the Museum, College and generally accepted museum
standards and applicable laws.

Compiles program and industry information for programs
and donors.

Supervises staff of Public Relations Coordinator, Museum
Administrative Assistant and Museum Services Coordinator.

Serve as copy editor for Museum newsletter and other
Museum publications.

Performs related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s
degree in a related area. Masters degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Two (2)
years experience in non-profit fundraising.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILLS:
Knowledge
of fundraising techniques in a museum setting. Ability to meet and deal with
prospective donors in an effective manner. Skill in use of personal computer.
Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to speak before groups on
behalf of the Museum.
