BASIC
FUNCTION:
- Reports to and works closely with the Vice
President for Baccalaureate Programs, represents the department to
internal and external constituencies, and manages specified daily
operations of the baccalaureate office.
- Responsible for working closely with all baccalaureate
administration and staff to ensure quality and consistence within each of
the baccalaureate programs.
- An emphasis on research and data driven
decision making is required.
- Involves coordinating efforts with and across
diverse campus entities (including C&I committee, enrollment
management, facilities, counseling/advising, financial aid, purchasing, AIS,
etc.) to ensure baccalaureate initiatives are enhanced and supported
throughout St. Petersburg College.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General Baccalaureate Needs
- Acts as the interface between various
academic and support services at St. Petersburg College and the
baccalaureate programs to encourage clear communication and streamlined
processes.
- Provides structure and consistency for new
and existing baccalaureate programs by promoting collaboration and
sharing of resources.
- Manages the orientation process for new
baccalaureate staff, to ensure correct processes and policies are
communicated and understood.
- Ensures departmental processes are accurate,
timely, and in compliance with state and St. Petersburg College policies
and regulations.
- Statewide
- Organizes and coordinates visits from other
colleges and schools that are interested in learning about the St.
Petersburg College baccalaureate model.
- Serves as St. Petersburg College’s
baccalaureate representative to MISATFOR and other state committees as
needed. Performs related duties as required.
- Oversees accuracy of the State Baccalaureate
Admissions Database and other relevant state reported baccalaureate data.
- Serves with the Vice President as the primary
contact with the Florida Department of Education, Division of Community
Colleges for baccalaureate communication and reports.
- Baccalaureate Specialists
- Supervises all baccalaureate specialists and
advisors and provides guidance, support, direction and leadership when
student service questions or concerns arise.
- Encourages a strong team environment where
each baccalaureate specialist or advisor is comfortable bringing forward
student services issues and ideas for improvement to assist all
baccalaureate students.
- Assists with policy development concerning
baccalaureate emerging academic and student services issues.
- Chairs the baccalaureate student services
meeting, which ensures consistent implementation of various student and
academic policies and procedures.
- Accreditation
- Oversees the credentialing process of
baccalaureate instructors, in accordance with college rules and policies.
- Responsible, along with the Vice President,
for the baccalaureate accreditation process including specialized
accreditation needs.
- Works with the Vice President to establish
new programs according to the needs of the community, as well as the
requirements of SACS, the State of Florida, and specialized accrediting
agencies.
- Assessment/Reporting
- Manages an integrated system to collect,
analyze, and report all baccalaureate data (including program specific,
administrative, faculty, student, academic, personnel, and facility) to
assist in state and legislative reports, accreditation requirements,
accountability and internal decision making.
- Oversees baccalaureate comprehensive academic
program reviews and end of program assessment activities.
- Monitors enrollment and productivity for all
programs.
- Serves as the liaison to the College
community, concerning all baccalaureate institutional effectiveness
outcomes.
- Other
- Serves as the baccalaureate liaison for all
PeopleSoft student database activities and coordinates all requests and
inquires for upgrades and modifications.
- Demonstrates initiative in assuming new
assignments to address the needs of students and the department.
- Performs related duties as required by the
Vice President
- Performs duties in absence of the Vice
President, as appropriate.
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree required.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
- Five (5) years of experience in a related
field.
- Experience in the development and
implementation of new bachelor degree programs.
- Experience working with senior college
administrators and key college partners in legislative and executive
agencies of state government.
- Experience in an environment that relies on
technology, specifically the use of student information data base systems
(Peoplesoft experience desired) and statistical packages (SPSS experience
desired).

College on statewide committees and task forces related to baccalaureate programs.
- Knowledge of post-secondary education
administration and the college accrediting process, including accrediting
bodies such as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
- Ability to maintain good working
relationships and relevant communication with administration, staff,
students, and the community using written and verbal communication
skills.
