POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE:
Director of Curriculum & Student Success

BASIC FUNCTION:
This
position is responsible for working closely with the Dean to coordinate
curricular aspects of the various academic programs, traditional and alternative
certification. The Director of Curriculum and Student Success manages
assessment and other associated issues that promote or impact the success of all
College of Education teacher candidates. As such, this position must be
thoroughly familiar with accrediting standards and have had direct experience
with the program approval process. This position reports directly to the Dean.
Travel among all COE campus locations required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops and manages the academic schedule of courses for all sessions.

Monitors enrollment and productivity for all program majors.
- In
preparation for accreditation, reports regularly on the status of the
curriculum to assure that all required program standards are being met; viz.,
FEAPs, assessments, ESOL standards, professional standards.
- Serves
with the Dean as the primary contact on behalf of the College of Education
with the FLDOE for communication and reports.
- Works
closely with the Dean and Coordinator of Baccalaureate Reports for the purpose
of managing the integrity of the College of Education assessment system and
the continuous improvement process.

Consults with faculty and the Dean to recommend improvements to the curriculum
based data collected from various aspects of the program.

Oversees and monitors all formal assessments (including pre-assessments)
within the academic curriculum.
- Assures
that all teacher candidates have faculty advisors and meet with advisors and
ESOL coordinator(s) on a regular basis and to discuss pertinent items.

Resolves candidate disciplinary issues, working closely with the Dean, campus
Associate Provosts, faculty advisors, and other appropriate personnel.

Maintains BOT Rules pertaining to all COE students and the curriculum by
conducting an annual review of BOT Rules.

Conducts information sessions to keep stakeholders informed of changes or
additions.
- Manages
lab fees for all courses, updating as needed.

Coordinates the process of developing new curriculum and curriculum revisions
with the Dean, SPC’s Curriculum & Instruction Committee and with accrediting
entities. .

Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Doctorate preferred, Master’s degree considered
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Three (3) years experience in the field related to assigned
area.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong
organizational and interpersonal skills. Computer skills. Ability to
effectively communicate with stakeholders, educational policy makers, and
decision makers.
Demonstrated ability to work
with faculty, staff, administrators, and the community. Demonstrated leadership
ability.
