POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Manager of Construction Projects and Certified Building Administrator

DEPARTMENT: Facilities Services                   SITE: DO

SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P                                GRADE: C

BASIC FUNCTION:

Performs General Contractor and Project Management functions for the construction remodeling or renovation of college facilities for small construction projects.  Works as a Certified Building Administrator.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction or related field. Possession of a General Contractors License, Florida Certified Building Administrator License – Certified Uniform Building Code Inspections or able to pass examine within one year.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Ten (10) years managerial experience in commercial/institution construction.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of construction methods, practices and procedures. Knowledge of Florida Building Code. Knowledge of State requirements for educational facilities. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings. Ability to interpret contract documents, plans and specifications. Ability to climb ladders and to perform inspections on-site. Ability to evaluate and compare construction quality and standards by performing on-site inspections. Ability to maintain good relationships with staff, contractors and design professionals. Written and verbal communications skills.
