POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Manager, New Systems Development
DEPARTMENT: Information Technology SITE: EPI
SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P GRADE: D
BASIC FUNCTION:
Work with AIS business customers (functional
users), technology system vendors, and service providers to plan, design,
coordinate, test and implement new systems, system functionalities, modules,
and system configuration in the College’s Enterprise Resources Planning and
Business Intelligence systems. The primary position responsibility is to meet
customer business requirements by improving access to data, reporting
functionality, processes, workflows, organizational efficiencies, and business
decision-making capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work as a collaborative technical/functional manager, in a liaison capacity, to increase customer awareness of unused or under-utilized system capabilities in SPC’s administrative and academic enterprise systems.
Assess and analyze new features,
releases, modules and complementary systems that will satisfy customer
business requirements by improving access to data, reporting functionality,
processes, workflows, organizational efficiencies, and business
decision-making capabilities.
Assist in business case development for new projects.
Role responsibility will include knowledge transfer and software
deployment.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
BS/BA in Computer Science, Business
Management, Industrial Engineering, Accounting or other appropriate discipline. Masters degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must have experience with windows-based applications; e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. MS Project experience preferred. Experience in implementing PeopleSoft Applications with a special focus in at least 3 of these modules and functionality: HR/payroll, General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Purchasing (PO), Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing (BI), and Commitment Control (KK), Projects (Billing and Costing) and Grants Management.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of and ability to apply micro-computer applications for
increased administrative efficiency and productivity.
Must have experience communicating with both technical
and functional staff, including the ability to convey customer business
requirements to technical staff. Knowledge base to
include ERP.
