POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Information Coordinator

 

DEPARTMENT: Institutional Advancement     SITE: EpiServices

 

SALARY SCHEDULE: Career Service              GRADE: 7

 

BASIC FUNCTION:

Plans, coordinates and administers a phase of the college information services program to advance the institutional objectives. Employees assigned to this classification function in a specific program of institutional advancement or may be assigned projects that involve several areas.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Writes copy for online marketing, media ads, brochures, booklets, flyers and other information to promote the various college programs, activities and opportunities.
  • Edits and maintains content for college Web pages. 
  • Edits, revises and proofreads web content that has been generated by other departments of the college. Coordinates with departments regarding projects and offers direction on best marketing practices.
  • Works with external groups regarding the mission and goals of the college.
  • Performs specialized functions in an assigned aspect of institutional advancement.
  • Helps develop viral marketing and social networking strategies.
  • Monitors trends in marketing and promotion
  • Performs related duties as required.

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations or related communications field.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Three years experience in the mass media/mass communications, public information, Web design or related field.

 

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of modern communications, Web design and journalism practices and techniques. Skill in writing and editing search engine and social media optimized content. Knowledge of sentence structure and word usage. Interpersonal skills. Skill in reading comprehension and proofreading. Knowledge of Web design software including, but not limited to, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Cascading Style Sheets, HTML. Experience with net content management systems helpful.
