DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Lead Security Dispatcher
DEPARTMENT: College Wide Security/ Facilities
SALARY SCHEDULE: Career GRADE: 3
BASIC FUNCTION:
Performs duties as a Security
Officer and Lead Security Dispatcher to include related office duties such as data
entry, security radio communication and phone communication.
Provides a security presence at the college’s District Office, records visitors
and maintains a phone log of calls for security assistance. Responsible for functioning
as a lead worker over all college-wide dispatch staff and organizing work
schedules.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from an accredited
high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
Must
possess a Security Officer “D” License from the State of
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) years of security and
office work experience. Military and/or previous security experience on a
college campus preferred. Some supervisory experience preferred as a shift
supervisor or equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of security procedures and best practices. Knowledge of
college policy and procedures. Knowledge of basic
mathematics. Ability to write intelligible reports and
memoranda. Ability to handle difficult situations;
interact with college personnel, students and the public in a tactful manner.
Possession of reading/writing comprehension skills as
well as computer skills. Office management skills.
