POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION TITLE: Resource Instructor - Collegiate High School

DEPARTMENT: Various SITE: Various

SALARY SCHEDULE: Instructional GRADE: N/A

 

BASIC FUNCTION:

A resource faculty member at SPCHS has the primary function of teaching students in the Collegiate Academic Resource Lab (CARL) in the areas of writing, time management, study, organizational and leadership skills.  Secondary functions include assisting the school in developing and maintaining a quality program of instruction, providing service to the school and continuing professional development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

v      Fosters academic excellence in teaching and learning.

v      Supports the community college and charter school philosophy through commitment to success of students with diverse goals, backgrounds and learning styles.

v      Instructs students in accordance with High School policies, procedures and approved curricula.

v      Serves the school through any of the following: (a) committee membership, (b) curriculum development, (c) development of innovative instruction, (d) sponsorship of student organizations, (e) representation of the school in professionally related community activities, and (f) special projects.

v      Supports extracurricular functions.

v      Maintains currency in teaching field(s) through professional development and scholarly activities.

v      Demonstrates a professional, cooperative and considerate attitude toward students, colleagues and staff.

v      Performs related duties as required including preparing presentations and projects as delegated by the principal.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree to Doctorate degree must be certified or eligible to be certified as a teacher in Florida.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Teaching experience preferred for all instructor positions.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Strong written and oral communication skills. Computer skills.
