POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Moving and Warehouse Services Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Institutional Services                    SITE: Various

SALARY SCHEDULE: Facilities/Skilled Trades       LEVEL: 3

BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for the supervision of College move crew.  Responsible for the relocation, assembly, and installation of furniture and equipment for all College departments on all sites.  Work is performed independently under general direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervises Moving Services Technicians.
• Responsible for planning and scheduling of move assignments.
• Assists in the training of Moving Services employees.
• Recommends hiring and training of Moving Services Technicians.
• Evaluates employees and recommends appropriate action.
• Assures acceptable customer services standards are maintained by move crew.
• Responsible for maintaining records, files, logs, and various reports
• Responsible for furniture assembly and installations
• Responsible for the maintenance of college move truck.
• Responsible for lifting heavy equipment. 
• Uses moving truck to do furniture and equipment moves, as well as conducting inventory on these items.
• Performs related duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Three (3) years of supervisory experience.  Three (3) years of warehouse experience.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to organize and prioritize work. Knowledge of computer applications relating to inventories. Communication skills. Must be able to get forklift certified. Must have a valid CDL Class B Florida Driver’s License. Ability to move and lift heavy material and equipment. Ability to pass a post qualification physical examination. Ability to supervise moving crews.
