Your Answer: This is a tutorial on iron deficiency anemia. It provides a computer simulation in which students "perform" and interpret four laboratory tests on a patient to determine if the patient has iron deficiency anemia. Quizzes are provided at the end of the tutorial and at the end of each laboratory test to assess the students' understanding of the concepts. Feedback is provided.

Your Answer: The student will demonstrate an understanding of the interpretation of laboratory data and an appreciation for the processes used in the diagnosis and treatment of hematological disorders by: a.defining "anemia" and listing three laboratory manifestations of an anemia. b.discussing the classification of anemia. c.discussing the basic etiology, physiology, relevant laboratory findings and morphologic features of the major categories of anemias.
