Scholarhips for Vet Tech Students

The following scholarships are available specifically to students in St Petersburg College’s AS Veterinary Technology Program. Requirements for each award are identified.

Scholarship Requirements
Connie Dell Davis Scholarship • Second year student
• Essay detailing student’s compassion for animals, experiences
• Foundations application and essay submitted to Dean

Hillsborough Animal Health Foundation • Hillsborough County Resident
• Second semester freshman or later
• 500 word essay on where applicant sees themselves in three years
• Three instructor recommendations
• Foundations application, essay, and recommendations submitted to the Dean

Deadlines
For Spring 2009: Dec. 5, 2008


For Summer 2009: April 10, 2009

• Student must be in a financial aid qualified certificate, lower division, or upper division Allied Health Program
• Student must be currently enrolled in class during the session of the application and have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
• Award amount—$500
• Award covers tuition and fees with the remainder provided to the student
• Student must use the online scholarship application
• Student must specifically request the Dr. John C. Belcher Endowed Scholarship on the scholarship application
• Student must submit application with recommendation letters to HEC Associate Provost Office no later than the dates specified at left
Healthcare Scholarship

Dec. 5, 2008

For Summer 2009:
April 10, 2009
• Student must be in a financial aid qualified certificate, lower division, or upper division Allied Health Program

• Award amount - $500

• Student must use the online scholarship application
• Student must specifically request the HealthCare Scholarship on the scholarship application
• Student must submit application with recommendation letters to HEC Associate Provost Office no later than the dates specified at left
Kelly Stadler Animal Lovers Memorial Scholarship • Available to AS and BAS students. This scholarship can cover tuition, books, and fees. Two $750 scholarships are expected to be awarded annually. Candidates must be in good academic standing with a minimum overall grade point average of 3.0.
• Candidates must submit a one page essay describing why they are pursuing a degree in Veterinary Technology. Financial need will also be considered. The essay should be double spaced, using 12-point font.
