Emergency Medical Technician Program

 

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS for day and evening classes beginning August 24, 2009 and evening classes beginning May 18, 2009!

EMT

Day (Express) Class Schedule (begin in Aug. and Jan. only)

16 weeks in length

THEORY

·        M, W - 8 am - 12 noon

LABS

·        M, W - 1 PM - 5 PM  OR  T, Th 8 am - 12 noon (enrollment dependent on open sections at time of registration)

Clinicals are Self-Scheduled during the fourth through eighth weeks of the Fall, 2009 session for August start

Field Internship will be accomplished during the final eight weeks of the Fall, 2009 session for August start

Evening (Regular) Class Schedule (begin in Aug., Jan. and May)

24 weeks in length

THEORY

·        M, 5:30-9:30 pm; Summer schedule only - M & W, 5:30-9:30 pm

LABS

·        ONE of the following - either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm

  • Summer schedule only - Tuesday & Thursday, 5:30-9:30 pm OR Monday & Wednesday, 1-5 pm (afternoon lab limited to 6 students)

Clinicals are Self-Scheduled during the last few weeks of the session

Field Internship will be accomplished in August, 2009 for 8 weeks for the Summer session enrollees, and the first 8  weeks of the Spring session in January, 2010 for the Fall session enrollees.

Individual schedules will be accomplished during orientation.  You will receive a letter in the mail regarding acceptance and mandatory orientation date from HEC Student Services.

CPR Certification Required to Apply, see below
  • For admission to the program you must be CPR certified in either Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer from either AHA, ARC, or ASHI .
  • St. Petersburg college will accept any of the above CPR certifications. However, if you plan to work for any EMS agency in Pinellas County you will eventually need AHA CPR.
