Human Services program provides a conducive learning environment for
students interested in pursuing a career in the helping professions. The
program will educate and train students to be well functioning entry level
human services practitioners. Some examples of employment opportunities

The goals of the SPC Human Services Program are as follows:
- Students will develop an understanding of the role that proper
communication skills play in the Human Services setting.
- Students will develop the knowledge base required of an entry-level
human services worker.
- Students will develop the critical thinking and problem-solving
skills required of an entry-level human services worker.
- The program will promote professional growth within the field and
encourage life long learning experiences.
Important Information
- In order to be successful in the Human Services Program, the student must be able to demonstrate
essential student functions
- Applicants should possess good interpersonal
skills.
- Job market: There is currently a
great demand for qualified Human Services workers in Pinellas County and in the
nation as a whole.
