Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Will I be able to work while attending the program?
A. Yes, a vast majority of students in the program work at least part time.
Q. Is RT going to be “taken over” by nursing?
A. NO! This myth has been around since 1970, and nothing could be further from the truth. Respiratory Care, like x ray technology or PT, is a highly specialized field that is outside of the scope of practice of nursing.
Q. Are jobs in respiratory care secure?
A. Yes, unfortunately, patients with lung disease will always be with us, and they will continue to need highly trained RRTs to care for them. Unlike many fields, the job of an RRT could not be outsourced
Q. How long does it take to complete the program?
A. 24 months. You will not have classes every weekday to allow you time for work and family responsibilities
Q. Is financial aid available?
