Policies of the Seminole Community Library:
The goal of the Library is to provide an atmosphere conducive to the enjoyment of facilities where people of all ages may read, study, and use the Library and information technology equipment, and partake in the Library, College, or community activities and programs. Rules and regulations are in place for the protection of the Library’s resources, patrons, staff, and building.

Detailed policies may be viewed at any service desk in the Library.

Code of Conduct
The Library’s objective to provide the best possible resources in a warm, welcoming environment requires that certain behaviors be exhibited. Behavior becomes unacceptable when it interferes with this objective, impinges on Library use or enjoyment by others, causes damage to buildings or equipment, or causes injury to oneself or others.

Children in the Library
Children age 10 and under must be in the immediate vicinity of and in visual contact with an adult caregiver at all times while in the library. Responsibility for children using the library rests with parents, guardians, or assigned chaperones, not with library staff. The City of Seminole and St. Petersburg College are not responsible for children left unattended in the library.

Computing Resources
Computing resources include all computers, related equipment, software, data, and local area networks for which the City and College are responsible, as well as networks throughout the world to which the City and College provide computer access. Users are responsible for legal, moral, and ethical conduct in the use of computing resources. The Library reserves the right to limit use of computers based on overall demand.

Smoking and the use of tobacco products are limited to designated areas outside the building. All alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the building and on campus property.

Political Campaign Signs
The library facility is designated by the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections office as a polling place. During Early Voting periods and on Election Days, political campaign signs may be placed in the green area shown in the attached diagram. Political campaigns are asked to limit the placement of signs on the Seminole Campus to this area only.

Meeting Spaces
The facility has five classrooms, three program rooms, three conference rooms, and six study rooms. College- and city-sponsored activities have first priority for use of the classrooms, program room, and conference rooms. However, spaces will be available for use by local organizations, subject to scheduling and policy requirements. Study rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit http://www.spcollege.edu/scl/policy.htm for the program room policy.
