| Gail Lancaster , Librarian | |
Greetings from the library! My name is Gail Lancaster, and I am a librarian at the Gibbs campus. Our library is a little different from the other St. Pete College libraries because we are also a St. Petersburg Public Library. The public library's collection is housed downstairs, and the SPC collection is housed upstairs. My office is upstairs in room LI 206, but you can often find me at the reference desk. I have been with SPC since July, 2004. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Delta State University in Mississippi. I earned my Master of Arts degree in Library and Information Science from USF. I am currently a Doctoral Candidate at Barry University in Miami. My classes were available through our University Partnership Center on the Seminole campus. Curently, I am serving on the committee that is developing SPC's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) for our upcoming SACS accreditation process. The QEP is a five-year plan. Over the next five years, we hope to implement the plan to improve students' critical thinking skills. After the five year implementation, we hope to see marked improvements in students' critical thinking skills - skills that employers demand and that students need to be good citizens in a global society. It is my job to help you find the information you need, so please do not hesitate to ask! I look forward to seeing you in the library or hearing from you through Ask-A-Librarian.
