Student Government

Purpose

The purpose of the Student Government Association (SGA) is to provide an orderly and responsible expression of the student body's opinion.  SGA is also designed to develop, foster, and maintain school unity and spirit.  By serving as a liaison between students and Administration, SGA helps to improve the effectiveness of educational opportunities and services as they impact the student body.

SGA members have the opportunity to travel.  Each year, up to six members of SGA have the opportunity to represent the Tarpon Springs Campus and take part in the FJCCSGA (Florida Junior Community College Student Government Association) State Convention, which is held in various parts of Florida.  The conference is planned with informational general sessions, various workshops, and entertainment/social functions.  Members also attend regional meetings and leadership retreats throughout the state.  This opportunity affords the student the chance to meet with students from all over Florida.
