Scoring, stroke, and stance are some of the techniques that will be acquired while learning to play this game.

Embark on a journey across the many different landscapes and physical terrain that define our big blue world.
• Students will receive an introductory lesson to geography, land masses, and world cultures.

• Students will learn and discover food and the customs of Mexico.

• The students will make bottles of sand art and other media using sand.

Investigate different ways to make puppets.
• The students will create different kinds of puppets using everyday items.

Students will develop volleyball serving skills, the underhand and overhead serves, pass and bump.
• All students will be able to participate in a volleyball game.

Learn about the origination of masks and create a paper Mache mask of your own.
• Students will appreciate where paper mache masks originated from and develop a paper mache mask of their own.
Leslie Simmons Basketball
Learn to pass, dribble, shoot, and guard in the game of basketball.
• Students will be able to engage in a basketball game.

Africa
Join us as we explore the mighty continent of Africa. Students will discuss problems that undermine so many cultures in this region of the world. Discussions will include overgrazing, desertification, increasing population, and famine.

Create your own beaded jewelry.
• Students will learn how to create a variety of beaded jewelry.

Soccer
Students will learn the offensive and defensive skills of soccer.
• Students will know the basic skills of playing a soccer game and apply them to a game.

Learn about the rich diversity in climate and resources, democracy and the constitution of our country.

Plate Tectonics, Natural Disasters, and Weather
Share with us some of your concerns about global warming as we embark on a journey of plate tectonics and how the earth took shape. We’ll discuss weather events like hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods. We’ll talk about natural disasters and what we can do to avoid them.

Ashley Small Creepy Crawlies!
Explore the various creepy crawly bugs and insects that inhabit our world. Through experiment and observation students will learn more about the tiny world of insects.

Students will learn how to string, wind, and create bead animals and people. They will also tell a story about their animal or person (totem).
• Students will create their own animal and or person and tell a story of its meaning.

Ashley Small Animals Around the World
Let’s take a virtual safari to discover animals from all across our globe. Then we’ll use observation and experiments to learn more about the local species of animals we have here in Florida.
Sandra Cochran Space
Learn about the planets, astronauts, and what it takes to be an astronaut. Students will also learn about flight.
• Students will create their own space shuttle, learn how things fly, and create their own solar system.

Kontonia George

Fun with Computers
Students will learn to make learning fun with the use of kidspiration, powerpoint and other fun applications.
• Students will be able to create an organizational web using Kidspiration and a presentation using powerpoint.
Amy Stewart Cupstacking
Learn the concepts of cupstacking and increase speed by performing the cupstacking cycle of the 3-6-3, 6-6, and 1-10-1.
• Students will learn the basics of cupstacking and will be able to proficiently perform various cupstacking cycles.
