Typing Made Fun and Easy
Take control of the computer keyboard by using software from BBC Schools Dance Mat Typing.

• Students will master the use of typing skills needed for future academics as set out by the NEC Technology standards.

Collage Art
Students will experiment with different ways of cutting, ripping, overlapping, positioning, etc. to create collages.

• Students will express their creativity by using pictures and words from various sources to make their own creation.

Readers' Theatre
Students will develop scripts, perform in groups and practice using their voice to depict characters from their favorite stories.

• Students will develop fluency and enhance comprehension of the stories they are reading.

Soccer, Basketball and Hockey Skills
Students will work together as we develop passing and dribbling skills for these popular sports.

• Students will demonstrate passing and dribbling skills in game simulation activities.

Relax as we select books related to your interests and current events to strengthen reading comprehension.

• Students will strengthen their reading comprehension and phonics related skills.

Students will practice proper hand positioning on the keyboard as they race to beat their previous word per minute count.

• Students will master the use of typing skills.

Beady People
Students will make “beady people” by bending wire and add beads to make them colorful and fun.

• Students will learn a new technique in making 3D art and have fun making silly wire people that can be used as key chains or just as a fun decoration.

Get Moving With Kickball, Dodgeball and Steal the Bacon
Let’s have some fun as we play three of our favorite CFK games.

• Students will properly demonstrate how to throw and kick a ball as they partake in active games.

What is your favorite genre? Now is your time to try out many different types and genres of reading materials.

• The students will increase their ability to use various reading strategies while reading fiction and non-fiction materials.

What Can Microsoft Do For You?
Students will use Microsoft Word to learn word processing skills.

• The students will spend a week mastering word processing skills needed for writing strategies later in their educational careers.

Famous Artists
Join us as we learn about Monet, Van Gogh, O’Keefe and other great artists and the type of art they created and then create our own versions.

• The students will gain an understanding and appreciation of the works of various famous artists as they re-create their own art using those techniques.

Throw It, Hit It, or Roll It
Bring your favorite hat and glove as we play Softball and T-Ball. Refine your form as we set up the pins and bowl.

• The students will demonstrate the correct way to throw and hit a ball and roll a bowling ball.

• Students will enhance their celebration of the 4th of July with patriotic art.

Pack your imaginary travel bags as we tour around the world and plan our destinations for the rest of the summer.

• Students will gain a better understanding of the geography of the world and the location of various countries.

Once Upon A Time...
Gather up your ideas as you write stories and type them up with your word processing and typing skills.

• The students will practice the typing and word processing skills learned in previous weeks.

Show how you care as we select projects to learn how to make St. Petersburg a happier and friendlier place to be!

• The students will learn how to give to others by making cards, writing letters, or making friendship bracelets.

• The students will demonstrate acting techniques to portray characters in various situations.

Working in conjunction with the drama class the students will prepare the costumes and props to enhance their skits and plays.

• The students will design and create simple props and sets to use in their plays.

Oh Where, Oh Where Can That Place Be?
Learn how to use the Google Earth website and all its tools to find locations throughout the world.

• Students will master the tools for the website Google Earth.

Get The Blood Pumping
Plenty of action and lots of fun will be yours as we play German Dodgeball, Centipedeball and run relays.

• The students will demonstrate knowledge of the rules of the games as we play the games and run the relays.

Join in the fun and fitness playing these favorite games at College for Kids. Listen closely so you grab the right bean bag!

• The students will demonstrate knowledge of the rules of the games by correctly following directions while playing the games.
