• Students will learn about the Earth’s surface and how volcanoes work.

Are You Puzzled
Students will work with a variety of puzzles including tangrams, crosswords, attribute Puzzles and more! They will also experience optical illusions and other mind-challenging activities.

• Students will develop problem solving strategies as they work different types of puzzles and learn the secrets behind optical illusions.

Getting Creative With Books
Students get creative with award winning books, incorporating a variety of the fine arts. Included are puppetry, music, reader’s theatre and art.

• Students will gain an appreciation of the variety of artistic pursuits that can be derived through reading good books.

Parachute Games
Students will work together using balls and other objects while trying to propel them off the parachute.

• Students will demonstrate teamwork as they work with the parachute and each other.

A Trip "Down Under"
Description: Join the fun as we explore Australia. We’ll learn about the geography, culture, and literature of this exciting country. Watch our for the kangaroos and koalas!

• Students will learn about the diverse landscape, the unique animal life, and the fascinating culture of Australia.

Hats Off To The USA
Students will learn all about the United States through making hands on activities with paper bags and other goodies.

• Students will learn about the Statue of Liberty, map skills, and make newspaper hats perfect to celebrate the 4th of July.

Crazy Kickball
Students will enjoy this type of kickball utilizing a variety of running methods and movements on the field.

• Students will demonstrate how the body moves using various locomotor skills. They will also demonstrate various throwing and kicking skills and demonstrated in class.

You're A Poet And You Didn't Know It
Creative Writing. Students will create 3-5 original pieces of poetry in a variety of genres. They will discover their voice and in turn a new found love of poetry and creative writing.

• Students will partake in 3-5 different poetry projects. All of which are guided, inspired by literature and easily mimicked. Students will work to develop their own unique voice in their writing and will have a published piece of poetry by the end of the week that they will share (if willing) in our poetry circle.

How Does Your Garden Grow?
Students will participate in hands-on activities while learning all about plant life.

• The students will learn about the life cycles of plants and the variety of soils in which plant life grows.

Math and Literature - Writing Math Children's Stories
After exploring real math children’s books, students get to make their very own. Students choose the topic and genre of writing and work throughout the week to publish their books.

• After choosing a math topic that interests them, students will go through the entire writing process (Plan, Draft, Edit, Revise, Publish) for their own book. The end product will be a math children’s book that they get to keep.

Math In The Real World - Design Your Dream House
After studying architectural design, students will get a chance to make a blueprint of their dream house. They will also use math to figure out the sq. footage of their house and to develop a scale with which to draw.

• Students will walk away with a new found knowledge of architectural design, home building, and math in the real world. Their finished product will be the detailed plans of their dream home drawn to scale.

“Les Copains et La famille” “Friends and Family” Learn to identify friends and family. You will also learn about relationships among family and friends.

• To stimulate a lasting interest in the language and culture of France.

Under The Sea
Students explore the amazing underwater habitat, otherwise known as the sea. They will research, complete activities, and create projects that focus on sea life. They gain a realm of sea life knowledge ranging anywhere from sea animals to underwater plants to coral reef. Students will also learn about the environmental aspects of marine life, and they will discover measures we can take to keep our oceans and beaches safe and clean.

• Students will learn and retain facts about various plants and animals that live in the sea. They will learn how to create fun and interesting projects that focus on sea life that they can share with their families at home. Students will gain an appreciation for the sea and all sea life, so that they might share ways that we maintain our beautiful oceans and beaches.

Math In The Real World - Swimming Pool Design
After looking at some very cool pools and learning how they are made, students will get a chance to design their very own pool. They will use math to figure out the surface area and volume of the pool.

• Students will learn all about swimming pools, how they are built and all the features they can include. They will also learn how they are measured (surface area, volume) and why those are important. Their final product will be a detailed pool plan drawn to scale.

A Trip to Southeast Asia
Come with us as we learn about the people, cultures, languages and geography of Southeast Asia. We'll hear folk tales, make worry dolls and sample sticky rice!

• Students will learn about the people, cultures, literature and geography of Southeast Asia - focusing on Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

Living Systems
Students in grades K-5 will learn how plants and animals are important to our ecosystem. They will also learn how plants and animals are often growing and changing and how those changes effect the organisms in our environment.

• Students will be able to see how changes in the environment affect its survival and be able to compare and contrast characteristics of plants and animals through daily hands-on activities.

“Tu as faim?” “Are you hungry?” Learn how to order some common foods and beverages in a café. Also, learn how to ask about prices and pay the check. Students will learn about how the café plays an important role in the social life of all French.

• To stimulate a lasting interest in the language and culture of France.

Move Your Feet To The Beat
Students will gain an appreciation for dance and music while exercising. Various dance and exercise moves will be incorporated into music from different cultures. The importance of stretching and also maintaining a healthy diet will be covered in this high energy course. The goal is for students to understand how important it is to stay active in your life, and what better way to exercise and express yourself than through dance and aerobics.

• Students will learn various dance and aerobic moves that they can practice at home. They will learn to appreciate music from different cultures and how various cultures may move differently. Students will also gain knowledge on the importance of stretching and healthy eating choices to maintain a healthy life-style.

Math In The Real World - Bridge Design
Work with a small group to design and build a model bridge our of toothpicks and Popsicle sticks. After they are all built-we will have a contest to see which bridge is the strongest!

• Students will learn all about bridge design and will develop a basic understanding of the physics behind structure and the ability to support weight. Students will work in small groups to build their bridges and then we will have a contest to see which bridge can support the most amount of weight.

Florida - The History, Geography and People That Make Up the Great State of Florida
The students will learn facts about Florida and its culture through hands-on and fun activities.

• Students will develop their cognitive knowledge of Florida and an appreciation of its history.

Butterfly Gardening
Description: _The world of butterfly gardening is a fascinating place! Join us as we learn about different types of butterflies, their life cycles, and the plant life they need to survive.

• Students will take home cuttings and seeds of butterfly attracting plants to start their own gardens! Students will develop a better understanding of different types of butterflies and their habitats.

Flagtag
Students will enjoy a myriad of flag tag activities that incorporate teamwork, movement, balance, and obviously chasing.

• Students will demonstrate chasing and fleeing skills. They will also demonstrate different styles of movement while maintaining balance.

Yoga for Kids!
Introduction and practice of basic yoga postures, breathing, stretching, focus, and listening skills.

• Students will be able to practice yoga in order to improve posture, increase circulation, flexibility, strength, as well as improve focus, listening skills, confidence, decrease stress, and promote overall health.
