Who can attend?
Students who have successfully completed any grade, K-5 or middle school grades 6-7, may attend College for Kids (CFK). Students must have appropriate independent work skills and behaviors for high levels of academic activity within a loosely structured learning environment.
Does my child pick one class to attend all
day?
No. At the beginning of each week, a schedule will be published for each site. Children are grouped by grade and age level and switch classes throughout the day.
Will the topics vary from one week to the
next?
New materials are presented each week throughout the summer. Although the subject may remain the same, a new unit will be presented each week. This way, children who attend every week will stay challenged and interested, and children who miss weeks will not fall behind.
Who cares for my child?
College for Kids uses credentialed teachers. College for Kids also provides caring staff to assist the teachers during the day.
How do I sign up?
Complete the attached enrollment application or download the form from the SPC Web site (www.spcollege.edu). For more information, please call the CFK office at (727) 341-3196 or (727) 341-3184.
What are the enrollment fees?
A non-refundable application fee of $40 per child pays for processing, T-shirt and supplies. The enrollment fee does not reserve a space.
What is the weekly cost?
The weekly cost is $85 for College for Kids and $35 for College for Kids II. The week of June 30 is $68 for CFK I and $28 for CFK II. There will be no CFK on July 4th.
What is CFK II?
CFK II is the afternoon feature of College for Kids for parents who cannot pick up their children at the end of CFK I. A snack will be provided.
What are the hours?
CFK I will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Classes begin at 8:30 a.m. unless otherwise specified; CFK II will run from 2:30-5:30 p.m. unless otherwise specified.
Can my child attend part of the week?
Yes, but there is no reduction in fee.
What if I cannot get there in time?
If someone is not available to pick up a child by 2:30 p.m. from CFK I or by 5:30 p.m. from the CFK II program, you will be charged a $20/per day late pickup fee.
What should my child wear?
Play clothes are suggested so that the child is comfortable.
What should my child bring?
Lunch and a drink. An afternoon snack is provided during College for Kids II. No refrigeration is available. Campers should not bring personal electronic items.

How do I request reasonable accommodations?
St. Petersburg College reasonably accommodates students with special needs in accordance with Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. Because of the academic nature of College for Kids, students need to function educationally, emotionally and behaviorally at or near grade level. The students must be able to adjust to class changes with a variety of teachers and teaching styles and adjust to loosely structured interaction with peers. Any reasonable accommodations for meaningful participation in the program must be requested within a reasonable time before classes begin. Some accommodations may require five (5) working days before the beginning of a College for Kids week. For special needs questions, please call the CFK office at (727) 341-3196 or 9727) 341-3184.
Do you have scholarships ?
Unfortunately, we do not have scholarships. You may call the Juvenile Welfare Board/Coordinated Child Care Office; we can accept Coordinated Child Care payments.
Who can I contact for other
questions/concerns?
