ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY (ALF) CORE TRAINING 
Cosponsored by Florida Assisted Living Affiliation and SPC

This course provides you with a certificate of attendance upon completion that enables you to sit for the state ALF CORE Administrator’s Exam. Learn Florida laws, rules, and ALF administrator’s guidelines necessary to run a licensed ALF Core facility. Course includes a 4 hour ALF Alzheimer’s Training certificate, Administrators Guidebook, marketing regulations, nutrition guidelines, laws, rules, forms necessary to operate an ALF, and Survey Tags booklet are included. Registration and/or cancellation deadline one week prior to the start date of each Core Training location. Go to www.spcollege.edu/ac/ce/ for class locations.

ALF EXTENDED CONGREGATE CARE (ECC) TRAINING
Cosponsored by Florida Assisted Living Affiliation and SPC
PRE-REQUISITE: ALF CORE Training.

Required special training required for ECC License. This program provides information and materials about ECC services, types of residents who can be served, additional policies and procedures, allowable additional nursing services that nursing staff may perform and documentation RE: 58A-5.030 FAC. Learn difference between ECC and ALF. No cancellations one week prior to class. Course is for ALF Administrators and nurses who are also ALF Administrators. Course offers four (4)continuing education hours for nursing and four (4) continuing education hours for ALF. Please bring proof of ALF certification to class. ADULT FAMILY CARE HOME (AFCH) TRAINING
Cosponsored by Florida Assisted Living Affiliation and SPC

This is the basic training program for ADFC providers. It covers the requirements of Florida Statute: 429 Part II. According to DOEA, a AFCH means a full-time family type living arrangement in a private home under which a person who owns or rents the home provides room, board and personal care on a 24 hour basis for no more than 5(five ) disabled adults or frail elders who are not relatives. Assisted Living Facilities (ALF) Instructors
Thomas Campbell
facilitates training statewide. Tom is a certified ALF administrator, AFCH Administrator and ECC. He has over 23 years experience in the long-term care profession as an ALF owner, consultant and managing partner. Tom has been a Core Trainer and a volunteer instructor for the Department of Elder Affairs since 1992 in various areas of the state.

Jack Morton , BA, facilitates training in the Tampa Bay area location. Jack retired from AHCA with 23 years of service, where he was the Health Facility Evaluator Supervisor in the west central area of Florida. Jack is a certified ALF administrator and ECC, and has received his Federal Survey Certification (SMQT).

Virginia Wood
, MS and BA, facilitates the training in southeast Florida. Virginia is an ALF Administrator with over 15 years of experience. Virginia has managed multiple large and small communities as an Administrator and Regional Director.
