Amputations
and Lower Extremity Prosthetics

This class will begin with a historical and technological overview
of amputations and lower extremity prosthetics. Followed by a review
of the integration of body mechanics with prosthetic design and
examination of the recent advancements in prosthetic design that
improve function and result in a more comfortable fit. Additional
topics include: lower prosthetics, immediate post-operative care,
introduction to feet/knees and microprocessor knees and feet.
Patient models will be used and the class will be interactive.
Please arrive between 7:15PM - 7:45PM to sign-in. Conference begins
promptly at 8:00AM. No partial credit. You must arrive on time and
stay all day to receive credit.
