Explore critical
competencies for care of the geriatric patients with emphasis on the
physical, cognitive, social and spiritual changes that occur during
aging and the end of life. Review risk factors and the interaction
of chronic co-morbid conditions that can lead to excess disability.
Examine cognitive changes in the elderly including dementia and
depression and their effect on quality of life. Identify the
importance of interactive teams for effective care of the elderly.
Continental breakfast, break and lunch provided.
