John Davenport
Sheriff, Charlotte County Florida

Sheriff Davenport is dual certified and has been a law enforcement officer in Charlotte County and took office January 4, 2005.

In addition to progressing through his professional career, Mr. Davenport was also working on his formal education in police management, earning an Associate in Arts degree in Crimnal Justice, a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and a Master's degree in Public Adminstration. Mr. Davenport is also a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy.

Sheriff Davenport served on the Board of Directors of Charlotte Community Mental Health Services, Inc., since 1979. He was a mentor in the Take Stock in Children Program, and is a member of the Charlotte Vocational Technical Center GED Scholarship Committee, the National Ethics Institute, the F.B.I. Law Enforcement Executive Development Association, and the Charlotte County Public Safety Coordinating Council and the Community Alliance Committee for Children and Families.
