Jamie Madewell, Women's Softball Head Coach JAMIE MADEWELL-GRODECKI
Head Coach

Coach Jamie Madewell-Grodecki is in her third season as head softball coach at St. Petersburg College. A native of Huntsville, Ala., she has spent the last six years coaching in the NCAA at the Division I and II Levels. She comes to SPC from Southern Arkansas University where she coached 11 all-conference players and two conference pitchers of the year in the Gulf South Conference. In addition to success on the field the athletes also excelled in the classroom with nine NFCA Scholar Athletes and 18 GSC All-Academic athletes. Madewell-Grodecki led her team to the Conference tournament both season’s at SAU. She spent two seasons as Assistant Coach at Delta State University working with infield, hitting instruction, and the strength and conditioning program, and helped guide Delta State to the 2005 Gulf South Conference West Division championship and tournament final.

Before her time on the Delta State staff, Madewell was an assistant at the University of Alabama-Birmingham in 2001-03, working with the outfield and in-state recruiting. She also was the Head Softball coach for USA Athletes International in a 3-week Paris/Belgium Tour in the summer of 2005.
Madewell-Grodecki received her B.B.A. from the University of Alabama-Huntsville, and her M.Ed. in Physical Education from the University of Alabama-Birmingham.

Madewell-Grodecki was a two-sport athlete at Alabama-Huntsville, competing in softball from 1995-2000 and volleyball from 1995-99. She was a member of three Gulf South Conference champion softball teams (1996, 1999 and 2000) with four regional appearances and 1 World Series appearance in 1999.

She is married to Andrew Grodecki.

 
     
 


Coach Bre Myers
BREANNA MYERS
Assistant Coach

Breanna (Bre) Myers begins her third season as assistant coach at St. Petersburg College. A native of Dunnellon, she comes back to her alma mater to work with the infielders and hitters. She received her Associate’s degree from St. Petersburg College in 2004 and her Bachelor’s degree from Delta State University in 2006. She is currently working on her Master’s degree at University of South Florida.

She was All-Conference both years as well as an Academic All-American at SPC. She continued her success at Delta State receiving All-Conference and All-Region honors. She averaged .350 both years with 26 HR, 99 RBI’s in her two years at DSU. Meyers maintained a 3.8 GPA receiving National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar Athlete and All-Conference Academic awards. Bre brings knowledge and experience to our program.

 
     
 


Coach Cindy Bristow
CINDY BRISTOW
Pitching Coach

This is Cindy’s second year working with the pitchers. She brings great experience to us. She currently instructs at the Eddie C. Moore complex through the Fastpitch Learning Academy. Cindy has been involved in virtually every facet of softball throughout her 30-plus year career.

As a player she pitched, played first base and earned All-American honors at California State Polytechnic University. She also played professionally for the Santa Ana Lionettes. She was a head coach at New Mexico State, Wichita State, and the Georgia Pride professional softball team. She is Director of Junior Olympic Softball, National Teams and coaching development and International Softball Federation. She has written several instructional books and been inducted to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
