SPC Advances to Finals
of
Florida State Tournament

The Lady Titans opened the Florida State Tournament with a win over Pensacola Junior College, 25-23, 18-25, 25-20, 25-21.
"We played pretty well today and advanced to the finals of the winners bracket", said Coach Scott White. "Ingrid Mosquera came up big for us with 14 kills and Ekatrina (Katya) Babkina was close behind with 9 kills and 5 blocks", added White.
SPC will play crosstown rival Hilsborough Community College at noon on Friday, November 6th in the winner's bracket finals.
SPC Volleyball closed out their regular season with a win at home Sophomore night win over Lake Sumter CC, 25-21, 25-13, 25-15.
"Our sophomores had a great night tonight", said Head Coach Scott White. "Ekatrina Babkina lead the team with 10 kills and 4 aces while Ingrid Mosquera chipped in 9 kills and 5 aces", added White
SPC is now 15-11 for the season and is headed to the state tournament next week at Polk College in Winter Haven, Florida where they will face Pensacola Junior College, 10 a.m. Thursday, November 5th.

Lady Titans Fall Short to Conference Rival
The Lady Titans of SPC fell short against conference rival Pasco-Hernando Community College, 13-25, 18-25, 18-25.
"I was very proud of our players tonight. We were not at full strength, but our team never gave up", commented head coach Scott White.
Despite the loss, tow SPC bright spots were Meagan Roark, who used her exceptional speed to get 16 assists and Kristina Little who added 7 kills.

After battling back to even the match to two sets, the Lady Titans dropped a tough fifth set to Hillborough Community College 20-25, 16-25, 25-18, 25-22, 9-15.
"It wasn't looking good after the second set break, but we fought back in the third and fourth sets, but ultimately did not pull out the fifth.", commented Coach Scott White. "We did get some inspiration off the bench with Liz Schaner coming in to help in the middle and Taryn Constance putting in a good showing with hitting from the outside with 12 kills.", added Coach White
Ingrid Mosquera chipped in 14 kills for the night with Ekatrina Babkina adding in 13 kills.

Lady Titans Take Action Against South Florida CC

After stuggling in the second game against South Florida Community College, SPC came back strong to win the next two games , 25-11, 25-27, 25-23,
25-15.
"We got off to a good start, but let them into the match in the second game", said Coach Scott White. "The third game was also a battle, but I think we wore them out by the fourth game", added White.
The Lady Titans were lead offensively by Ekatrina Babkina with with 13 kills, hitting 85%, and Ingrid Mosquera with 19 kills, hitting 52%.

Fourth Time is Still the Charm for the Lady Titans

For the fourth time this season and the second time in conference play, the Lady Titans defeated the Lady Manatees of State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, 25-21, 25-19, 26-28, 25-21.
"We played well down the stretch tonight and closing out a few games", said Coach Scott White. "Our setter, Meagan Roark had an excellent serving game and that really helped us when we needed it most", added White.
Ingrid Mosquera came off the bench to help lift SPC to the win with 10 kills.

Lady Titans Back On Track

The SPC Lady Titans rebound this week with a confidence building win over Polk State Colege 25-20, 25-19, 25-18.
"PSC played very well with almost no errors in the first set", commented Coach Scott White. "Fortunately, we grew stronger as the match went on", White added.
SPC displayed exceptional hitting by Kristina Little and blocking by Bailey Peterson. Little lead the team with 17 kills with Peterson adding to her statistics of most blocks per game.

Tough Week for SPC Volleyball

Thursday night ended one of the toughest weeks in recent history for the Lady Titans as they finished the week with a loss to #19 nationally ranked Pasco-Hernando Community College, 22-25, 26-26, 21-25.
"This has been a tough week playing the top teams in the conference, both of whom are nationally ranked," said Coach Scott White. "Hopefully, we can regroup and finish the conference strong."
The effort was lead by Meagan Roark with 5 kill and 40 assists and Lindsey Carper with 8 kills and 4 aces.

SPC dropped a close match to nationally ranked #10 Hillsborough Community College, 25-20, 20-25, 23-25, 25-27. This drops SPC's conference record to 2-1 and an overall season record of 7-3
"This is one that got away", said Coach Scott White after SPC lead both games three and four before HCC's comeback.
The Lady titans were lead by Ingrid Mosquera and Katya Babkine with 10 kill each.

SPC Sweeps South Florida Community College

The Lady Titans of SPC swept South Florida Community College in three games, 25-13, 25-15, 25-15. "We played well tonight but I would like to see improvement on our execution", stated Coach Scott White.
The team was lead by Ingrid Mosquera with 11 kills and 1 ace with Katya Babkina contributing 13 points from 8 kills and 5 aces.
SPC's first home game is this Tuesday, September 22nd at 7 p.m. against Suncoast Conference rival #9 nationally ranked Hillsborough Community College.

SPC opened their Suncoast Conference play with a decisive win over The State College of Florida, Manatee/Sarasota, 25-21, 25-15, 25-20.
The Lady Titans were lead to victory in part by Meagan Roark with her precise jump setting and perfect serving statistics. While
Ingrid Mosquera lead the team in kills hammering down 14. Mosquera was also awarded the gameball for the match.

The Lady Titans of SPC received their first two losses of the season this past weekend at the Hillsborough Community College Tournament.
SPC faced two tough opponents: #10 nationally ranked Hillsborough CC and #12 nationally ranked Hutchinson Community College. Always a tough rival, Hillsborough CC defeated the Lady Titans 3-1 (18-25, 25-20. 13-25, 12-25). While Hutchinson CC, located in Hutchinson, Kansas, defeated SPC 3-0 (13-25, 10-25, 13-25).
In the Hillsborough CC match, SPC was lead by Jingu Zhang with 11 kills/8 digs and Ekaterina Babkina with 11 kills/6 digs. Meagan Roark (13 assists) and Ingrid Mosquera (6 kills) were the two positive notes in the Hutchinson CC match.
On the bright side, the Lady Titans were able to rebound and pick up two wins to even its tournament record to 2-2.
SPC triumphed over Gulf Coast Community College in three games, 25-11, 25-21, 25-23 with Taryn Constance serving up 9 aces.
The Lady Titans took a five game victory over State College of Florida, Sarasota-Manatee, 25-8, 25-18, 23-25, 20-25, 18-16. "We started off strong but I tried a new line-up in game three and it almost cost us", commented Coach Scott White.
In game 5 SPC took control with 5 kills from Constance and perfect passing from Thea Staton.

Lady Titans Spoil Inaugural Party

The State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (formerly Manatee Community College) had big plans of celebration for their inaugural intercollegiate sporting event. However, the party was spoiled when SPC defeated the State College of Florida in three games, 25-16, 25-19, 25-23.
Ingrid Mosquera lead the team in kills with 7 while Taryn Constance poured in 5 kills to help close the door on the Lady Manatees' home opener.

SPC Wins Season Opening Tri-Match

SPC had a successful opening tri-match this past weekend playing away at Brevard College.
In the first match, the lady
Titans dropped the second game but rallied to defeat Palm Beach CC, 25-19, 18-25, 25-18, 25-17.
In the second match, SPC found their rhythm and defeated host Brevard College in three, 25-18, 25-12, 25-17.
Ekaterina Babkina lead the Lady Titans with tri-match totals of 47 assists and 21 kills. Ingrid Mosquera was second in kills with 19.
