College of Education Scholarships
Financial assistance, scholarships and loan forgiveness for teachers in critical teaching shortage areas* include:
General Education Scholarships
- The Domidian Scholarship. The Domidian scholarship is available to eligible teacher candidates during the final internship. Awards cover full tuition during the student –teacher semester.
- The Florida Teacher Scholarship and Forgivable Loan Program for Critical Teacher shortage (CTS). This loan is for upper-division, undergraduate and graduate-level students who are pursuing a teaching degree in critical teacher shortage areas. Please apply for this loan before the academic year in which you wish to receive the loan.
- "Chappie" James Most Promising Teacher Scholarship. This scholarship is designed for high school students who intend to teach in a critical teacher shortage area. Recipients earn an award for their freshman and sophomore years in college. More Information
- Critical Teacher Shortage Tuition Reimbursement Program. Those currently teaching full time or preparing to teach in pre K-12 in a critical teacher shortage area are eligible for this program, which reimburses tuition up to $78 per credit hour.
- Instructional Aids Scholarship Program. Designed for those employed by a publicly funded Florida school district as an Instructional aide for at least one year in areas of critical state or local need and who are pursing a teaching degree in q critical teacher shortage area. Recipients may receive assistance up to $3,000 per year. More Information
- Critical Teacher Shortage Student Loan Forgiveness Program. Those who are certified through the Florida Department of Education and have taught full time for 90 days in a critical teacher shortage area may apply for loan forgiveness of up to $10,000 for loans received while pursuing teaching degrees.
Florida Fund for Minority Teachers Scholarship website
This collaborative, performance-based scholarship program is designed for African-American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian/Pacific Islander, and American Indian/Alaskan Native community college graduates interested in teaching careers in Florida public schools.
The scholarship also is offered to Florida residents who are newly enrolled in a bachelor's program in education who will become full-time teachers in a K-12 Florida public school. Scholarships are awarded in an annual amount of $4,000.
Upon graduation, MTES recipients are required to teach one year in a Florida public school for each year they received the scholarship.

Technology Education Scholarships
- Florida Technology Education Association. NEW for Technology Education students The Florida Technology Education Association (FTEA) strives to recognize outstanding achievements of our technology education professionals across the state through partnerships with affiliate organizations. - International Technology Education Association. NEW for Technology Education students. The Foundation for Technology Education (FTE) has the broad purpose to support the advancement of technology education through teacher scholarships and grants.
- Frank Zeitler Future Educator Scholarship. NEW for Technology Education students. Any Florida high school senior who has completed one year membership and is a current Florida TSA member with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, who has been accepted by a college or university with the intention of studying and teaching Technology Education. The scholarship amount shall be limited to a maximum of $1,000.00 per student per year. More Information
- Ralph V. Steeb Scholarship. NEW for Technology Education students. Any Florida high school senior who has completed one year membership and is a current Florida TSA member with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, who has been accepted by a college or university with the intention of studying Technology Education or a technology related area. The scholarship amount shall be limited to a maximum of $1,000.00 per student per year. More Information
- Florida Association for Career and Technical Education/Association for Career and Technical Education (FACTE/ACTE). NEW for Technology Education students. The Association for Career and Technical Education awards program seeks to promote excellence in career and technical education by recognizing individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the field, programs that exemplify the highest standards and organizations that have conducted activities to promote and expand career and technical education programs. *Critical Teacher Shortage - SPC offers majors in the following Critical Teacher Shortage areas: Florida Fund for Minorities, Middle and High School level Math and Science, Reading, Exceptional Student Education Programs (ESE), English for Speakers or Other Languages and Technology Education/Industrial Arts.
