St. Petersburg College offers a new and innovative four-year degree that provides the necessary knowledge and facilitates the development of skills needed to assume administrative and leadership roles in public safety organizations.

This program develops competencies that help students solve management problems, understand finance and budgets, fine tune strategic plans, develop and evaluate programs, enhance human resource potential, increase productivity and address internal organizational issues.

The BAS/PSA degree, along with the appropriate certifications, prepares graduates for entry-level positions in law enforcement, fire services, corrections, emergency medical services, emergency administration management, and industrial security enterprises in government and private sector agencies.

The program also prepares graduates for career promotions and advancement in all the public safety industries in which a high level of understanding of organizational dynamics and interpersonal skills are involved.

Program highlights include a curriculum that offers both theory and practical application, faculty who are experienced through education and professional service, and flexible courses that will be offered on a year-round basis through traditional classrooms, internet and distance learning, to accommodate students’ various schedules.
