Hardware and software requirements

• Reliable access to a computer
• Reliable access to the internet (High-Speed (Broadband) access recommended)
• Headphones/speakers or accessibility equivalent
• A webcam/microphone (required for some online courses)
• Software for creating electronic documents (ex., Microsoft Word)

Technical skill requirements

• Proficient with a web browser and email
• Willing to learn new programs
• Familiar with basic computer functions
• Proficient with creating, saving and moving electronic files
• Familiar with adding attachments to emails

Should be willing to:

• Devote at least 10-15 hours a week per online course
• Devote sufficient time to online course materials
• Devote sufficient time to online discussions
• Devote sufficient time offline to writing, reading and researching
• Spend at least seven hours per week online

Personal skill requirements

• Self-directed learner
• Able to figure out written instructions on your own
• Able to stay on task without direct supervision
• Able to Prioritize workloads
