Bachelor of Science in Technology Education

Technology education is a teacher preparation program that combines laboratory-based classroom work with practical, school-based experiences to prepare students for professional certification in Technology Education for middle and high school.

Teaching Technology on the Middle and High School Level

If you walk into a middle or high school Technology Education lab, you will find engaged, focused students learning about technology. They may be videotaping a public service announcement for the United Way; programming a robot to follow a series of manufacturing steps; designing, writing and publishing a school magazine; or building a scale-model international space station. If you get the feeling that this isn't a traditional school classroom, you are correct.

Technology education in middle and high schools attracts motivated, diverse students. Advanced placement and exceptional students can work together on real projects in cooperative work teams. In some Technology Education classrooms, students from different countries may work together on innovative technology projects.
